This Privacy Policy explains how AifinityStudio ("we", "us", "our")
collects, uses, stores, and shares information when you use the
ExamDrill GK & Current Affairs mobile application ("App") published on Google Play,
and when you visit https://aifinitystudio.com ("Website").
By using the App, you agree to this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the App.
This policy is written to align with the Google Play Developer Program Policy, Google AdMob policies,
and applicable privacy laws including India's DPDP Act principles and GDPR where they apply.
1. App Overview
- App name: ExamDrill GK & Current Affairs (shown as "ExamDrill GK" on device)
- Developer: AifinityStudio
- Package ID: gk.currentaffairs.examdrillapp
- Purpose: Educational quiz practice, current affairs, mock tests, PYQs, leaderboards, and study tools for competitive exams
2. Information We Collect
We collect only what is needed to run ExamDrill. The categories below reflect our actual app and server implementation.
2.1 Information you provide
- Google Sign-In: Display name, email address, and profile photo (only what Google shares with your consent). We do not receive your Google password.
- Phone sign-in (OTP): Mobile number for one-time password verification via Firebase Authentication. Your number may be used to create or link your account.
- Profile details: Username/display name, state/region, and avatar you choose in the App.
- Guest mode: A temporary guest identifier stored on your device and server so progress can sync. Guest accounts use a system placeholder email and do not require personal sign-in.
- Community content: Text you post in forum/discussion features, if you use them.
- Support messages: Name, email, and message content if you contact us via the App or Website contact form.
2.2 Learning & activity data (generated when you use the App)
- Quiz and mock test attempts, scores, accuracy, time taken, and answers
- Study streaks, daily check-ins, XP, coins, virtual rewards, and spin-wheel claims
- Bookmarks, study history, weak-subject analytics, and progress by subject/exam
- Leaderboard rank, PvP quiz battle results, and ELO rating (if you use PvP)
- Premium/subscription entitlement status (verified via Google Play — we do not receive your card number)
2.3 Device & technical data
- Push notification token (FCM): If you allow notifications, we store a device token to send study reminders or admin announcements.
- App version & platform: Used for compatibility, security, and support.
- Crash diagnostics: Anonymous crash logs via Firebase Crashlytics in release builds (stack traces, device model, OS version) to fix bugs. We may attach your username to crash reports if you are signed in, to help diagnose account-specific issues.
- IP address: Temporarily processed for rate limiting, abuse prevention (e.g. guest signup limits), and server security logs.
- Local device storage: Preferences, cached content, and offline progress stored on your phone via the App's local storage and secure storage for auth tokens.
2.4 Advertising-related data
If you use the free version (non-Premium), Google AdMob may collect advertising identifiers
and interaction data to serve and measure ads. This can include device advertising ID, ad impressions,
and clicks. AdMob's collection is governed by
Google's Privacy Policy.
We do not sell your personal information.
3. Android Permissions
The App may request these permissions:
- Internet — required to load quizzes, sync progress, and authenticate
- Post notifications — optional; for study reminders and push messages if you enable them
- Receive boot completed — to reschedule local daily reminder notifications after device restart (does not read personal files)
- Vibrate — for notification alerts
The App does not access your contacts, SMS, call logs, precise location, camera, or microphone for core features.
4. How We Use Your Information
- Provide quizzes, current affairs, mock tests, PYQs, analytics, and personalized study recommendations
- Sync progress and account data across sessions and devices when signed in
- Operate leaderboards, achievements, streaks, coins, and PvP features
- Verify Google Play purchases and premium access
- Show ads to non-Premium users and honor your ad consent choices
- Send optional push notifications and local study reminders
- Detect abuse, fraud, and enforce fair use (rate limits, community moderation)
- Improve stability through crash reporting
- Respond to support and legal requests
5. Third-Party Services We Use
ExamDrill integrates the following services. Each has its own privacy policy:
- Google Sign-In — authentication (Google Privacy Policy)
- Firebase Authentication — Google and phone OTP sign-in
- Firebase Cloud Messaging (FCM) — push notifications
- Firebase Crashlytics — crash and error reporting
- Google Play Billing — in-app subscriptions and purchases; payment is processed by Google
- Google AdMob — banner, interstitial, rewarded, native, app-open, and rewarded-interstitial ads
- Google User Messaging Platform (UMP) — ad consent for users in the EEA, UK, and applicable US states
- Hosting provider — our backend API and database (e.g. Hostinger) store account and quiz data over HTTPS
Note: We do not currently integrate a separate Firebase Analytics SDK in the App.
AdMob and Crashlytics may still process technical/diagnostic data as described above.
6. Advertising & Your Ad Choices
Free users may see ads from Google AdMob, including:
- Banner and native ads on some screens
- Interstitial ads (e.g. after quizzes or entering certain features)
- Rewarded ads (optional — watch to unlock content or earn coins)
Premium subscribers: Where configured, premium access removes ads as described in the App.
Consent (EEA / UK / regulated regions): Before personalized ads, the App may show Google's consent form via UMP. You can change ad choices later in the App under Settings → Ad privacy options (when available for your region).
Device-level opt-out: Android → Settings → Google → Ads → Opt out of Ads Personalization.
7. In-App Purchases & Virtual Currency
Premium plans and virtual coins are processed through Google Play Billing.
We receive purchase tokens and entitlement status to unlock features — not your full payment card details.
Virtual coins have no real-world cash value and are non-transferable, as described in our Terms of Service.
8. Data Storage & Security
- Account and quiz data are stored on our secure servers and transmitted over HTTPS/TLS
- Authentication tokens are stored using platform secure storage where available
- We apply access controls, rate limiting, and standard security practices
- No method of electronic storage is 100% secure; we work to protect your data but cannot guarantee absolute security
9. Data Sharing & Public Display
We do not sell or rent your personal information. Limited sharing occurs only as follows:
- Leaderboards & PvP: Your username, rank, score/XP, and optionally state may be visible to other users
- Community: Posts you submit may be visible to other users
- Hide mobile number: Phone users can enable "Hide Mobile Number" in Settings to mask phone-derived usernames on public surfaces
- Service providers: Google (auth, ads, billing, messaging, crash reporting) and our hosting provider, under contractual obligations
- Legal requirements: When required by law, court order, or to protect rights and safety
10. Data Retention
We retain your account and learning data while your account is active. When you delete your account,
we delete personal profile data, tokens, bookmarks, quiz attempts, activity records, and device tokens
from our servers, subject to limited retention required by law, fraud prevention, or anonymized aggregates.
11. Account Deletion & Your Rights
You may:
- Delete your account in the App: Profile → Delete Account. This removes your server-side account data listed in our deletion process.
- Use guest mode without Google or phone sign-in (limited features; progress tied to guest ID)
- Request access or correction of your data by emailing us
- Manage notifications via Android system settings and in-App preferences
- Manage ad consent via Settings → Ad privacy options (where UMP applies)
- Revoke Google access via Google Account permissions
Depending on your location (including EEA/UK), you may have additional rights to object, restrict processing,
or request portability. Contact us to exercise these rights.
12. Children's Privacy
ExamDrill is intended for users aged 13 and above. We do not knowingly collect personal
information from children under 13. If you are under 18, use the App with parental or guardian consent.
If you believe a child under 13 has provided data, contact us and we will delete it promptly.
13. International Data Transfers
Our servers and third-party providers (including Google) may process data in India, the United States,
or other countries. By using the App, you acknowledge that data may be transferred internationally
with appropriate safeguards as required by applicable law.
14. Website-Specific Practices
When you use https://aifinitystudio.com:
- Contact form submissions (name, email, subject, message) are stored in our database and/or emailed to our team
- We may use basic server logs (IP, browser type) for security
- Optional Google Analytics on the Website (if enabled) uses cookies — you can control cookies in your browser
15. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The "Last updated" date at the top will change.
Material changes may also be communicated in the App. Continued use after updates means you accept the revised policy.
